Costa Rica Photography Tour
Welcome to Costa Rica. My name’s Will Gray. Join me for the next few minutes while I show you why Costa Rica is such an incredible destination for wildlife and photography.
First, there’s the biodiversity. Five per cent of the world’s species are found here – despite Costa Rica only covering 0.03% of the Earth’s surface. Over 900 bird species including more than 50 different hummingbirds. Four species of monkey, jungle cats, tapirs, coatis, ant-eaters… and, of course… sloths. Then there’s the small wonders… a myriad of amphibians, lizards and insects – from the must-see red-eyed tree frog to mesmerising leaf-cutter ants.
Cool, mist-shrouded cloud forest, hot lowland rainforest, volcanoes, the Pacific coast… this is the realm of resplendent quetzals, scarlet macaws, basilisk lizards and ghost bats.
I’ve carefully researched my 17-day Costa Rica Photo Tours to include the very best of this Central American beauty. We’ll take a boat trip in search of humpback whales and hawksbill turtles, and round it all off with a mind-blowing finale on the Osa Peninsula.
There’s no rush. Two- and three-night stays at some of Costa Rica’s best ecolodges allow us to get to know each habitat and its wildlife… and most crucially to refine our photography. Mario, our guide is an expert at spotting wildlife – and I’ll be there to give one-to-tuition and advice – helping you to take your photography to the next level, whether you’re a complete beginner or aspiring professional.
As well as private transport, superb accommodation and most meals, we’ve included several dedicated photography activities, including night walks, macro sessions and some truly outstanding opportunities for getting the bird images you’ve always dreamed of.
Everything is taken care of. Trips usually run in February/March and July/August. Dry season or rainy season – both have their special appeal for photographers. Places tend to fill fast, so please do register your interest as soon as possible by completing the form on my website.
I hope you can join me.
