
WILL GRAY PHOTOGRAPHER, AUTHOR AND WORKSHOP LEADER
Will Gray is an award-winning travel writer and photographer with a degree in zoology and a lifelong passion for photography, wildlife and travel. Based in Oxfordshire in the heart of England, Will runs photography workshops in the Cotswolds and throughout Britain, as well as small-group photo tours in Namibia, Iceland and Costa Rica. He is currently working on two new books – Photography Weekends Britain and Costa Rica Wildlife. Will is a contributing photographer for AWL Images.
An award-winning journalist, author and photographer, William Gray has over 30 years' experience working for magazine publishers, conservation organisations and as a widely-published freelancer. A zoologist, conservationist and passionate advocate of responsible tourism, he has received over 20 journalism awards, including AITO Travel Writer of the Year and BGTW Travel Photographer of the Year.
Will has written for numerous publications, from National Geographic Traveler and The Sunday Times to BBC Wildlife, Wanderlust and Travel Africa. Will’s books include Travel with Kids, Cornwall with Kids and Wildlife Travel (Footprint) – his latest book, Family Wildlife Adventures (Bradt Travel Guides) was published in 2021 and he is currently working on Photographing Britain and Costa Rica Wildlife Travel Guide, also by Bradt.
Over 1,000 of Will's travel, landscape and wildlife photographs are represented by leading picture library, AWL Images, while his photography workshops are available in the Cotswolds, Cornwall and Lake District, as well as Namibia, Costa Rica and Iceland. An experienced speaker, Will was a presenter on the BBC Holiday programme and regularly gives talks and seminars at shows like Destinations in London and Manchester. He has also been a judge for Wanderlust magazine's Travel Photographer of the Year competition.
