Wilderness, Wildlife & Landscape Photography
Award-winning photographer, zoologist and author Will Gray leads immersive small-group photography tours and expeditions in some of the world’s most extraordinary wild places — from the deserts of Namibia and the Kalahari to the rainforests of Costa Rica and the atmospheric landscapes of Britain.
Photography Tours & Expeditions Inspired by Wild Places
For more than 30 years, I’ve travelled the world photographing wildlife, landscapes and remote places as a professional photographer, travel writer and guide. My photography tours and expeditions are designed for photographers who want more than simply ticking locations off a list.
Whether we’re photographing desert elephants beneath Namibia’s vast skies, searching for frogs in a Costa Rican rainforest, or capturing mist rising through ancient British woodlands, my aim is always the same: to help you create more atmospheric, meaningful and personal images while enjoying unforgettable experiences in nature.

Each one is led by Will, with expert tuition, and includes numerous activities (such as specialised hide sessions, game drives and boat trips) as well as excellent accommodation using lodges in prime locations.

AN INTIMATE, IMMERSIVE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
Cloud Forests of Costa Rica
Explore Costa Rica’s cooler highlands on a small-group wildlife photography expedition focused on the country's mist-shrouded cloud forests. A centre-based adventure, we'll take time to explore this rich habitat – home to hummingbirds, tanagers and resplendent quetzals – with rewarding bird photography and macro opportunities.
This 7-day wildlife photography workshop launches in 2028 and can be combined with Costa Rica in Close Up.
UK Landscape Photography Workshops
Ideal for photographers wanting to improve their fieldcraft, composition and creative approach, I lead photography workshops in some of Britain’s wildest and most atmospheric locations – from Cornwall's dramatic coast to the rugged fells of the Lake District. I also run one-to-one photography workshops from my base in the Cotswolds.
CHASE THE LIGHT ACROSS THE PENWITH PENINSULA
Wild Coasts of Cornwall
During February each year, I base myself in the Far West of Cornwall for a week or two of intensive coastal photography, chasing the light (and even the odd storm) across the breathtaking Penwith Peninsula. Join me for a day or more to take your seascape photography to the next level. At this time of year, we'll be out from dawn to dusk, and on into the 'blue hour', visiting key locations like Porth Nanven, Botallack, Land's End and St Michael's Mount. Group size: 1–3.

CAPTURE THE CHANGING MOODS OF THE LAKE DISTRICT
Lakes Landscape Masterclass
During November each year, I head to Cumbria's Lake District to immerse myself in the fells and valleys of this stunning national park. It's often a rewarding time of year, with late-autumn colours, rapidly changing light conditions and even a dusting of snow on the mountaintops. Join me for a day or more – usually in the Great Langdale Valley – photographing from dawn to dusk and developing your mastery of light and composition. Group size: 1–3.
